Happy Birthday Earth ♥

Earth Day is a day designed to inspire awareness and appreciation for the Earth's environment. It was founded by U.S. Senator Gaylord Nelson as an environmental teach-in held on April 22, 1970. Earth Day is celebrated in spring in the Northern Hemisphere and autumn in the Southern Hemisphere. Many communities celebrate Earth Week, an entire week of activities focused on environmental issues. The first Earth Week originated in Philadelphia in 1970 (starting April 16 and culminating on Earth Day, April 22). Earth Day Network, a group that wishes to become the coordinator of Earth Day globally, asserts that Earth Day is now observed on April 22 on virtually every country on Earth. What you do on this day is up to you but make sure you think of the planet :)

Here are some things that we can all do to make our world more green, we’ve all heard them before, but we can all use a reminder. These are just a few suggestions to get you started on a more green path.

  • Replace all the bulbs in your house with energy savings one. Energy savings bulbs will save you upto 70% in utility bills and at the same time help out to make world greener by using less electricity.
  • Unplug appliances which are not in use. Even some of the chargers like your laptop charger, consumes some energy while plugged in to outlet even when there is nothing is plugged in the other side. That home entertainment system or just a cable box you have sitting around, consumes energy. All this could add up to significant $$’s.
  • Use less paper! Opt in for online statements. This alone will save a lot of paper and in turn will protect the trees!
  • Paper or plastic? ALWAYS pick paper. Plastic bags are hard to recycle.
  • If you live close to stores, work or any other destinations, walk there instead of driving. You save on some pollution and at the same time it’s good exercise. We really don’t walk enough in this country!
  • Use a programmable thermometer so you don’t have to keep the heat or air conditioning running while your not even home. Keep it at 68-69 in the winter time, and 75 or higher in the summer time.

Bugatti was founded in Molsheim, France as a manufacturer of high performance automobiles by Ettore Bugatti, an Italian immigrant described as an eccentric genius.

The original company is legendary for producing some of the most exclusive cars in the world, as well as some of the fastest. The original Bugatti brand failed with the coming of World War II, like many high-end marques of the time. The death of Ettore's son Jean was also a contributory factor.

The company struggled financially, and released one last model in the 1950s, before eventually being purchased for its airplane parts business in the 1960s. Today the name is owned by Volkswagen Group, who have revived it as a builder of limited production exclusive sports cars.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

March 17th is not just a normal day. Saint Patrick's Day has come to be associated with everything Irish: anything green and gold, shamrocks and luck. Most importantly, to those who celebrate its intended meaning, St. Patrick's Day is a traditional day for spiritual renewal and offering prayers for missionaries worldwide.
♣ What brings good luck on Saint Patrick's Day? Finding a 4leaf clover, wearing green and kissing the blarney stone... According to legend, kissing the stone endows the kisser with the gift of gab, eloquence or skill at flattery. The term Blarney means 'the ability to influence and coax with fair words and soft speech without giving offense'.
♣ The first American celebration of St. Patrick's Day was at Boston in 1737.
♣ St Patrick is credited with establishing the Leap Year tradition of women proposing to men because they were tired of waiting for marriage proposals.
♣ Believe it or not, the colour of St. Patrick was not actually green, but blue! In the 19th century, however, green came to be used as a symbol for Ireland.
